Bali 50MW Independent Power Station — 65×1000kW Cummins Gensets
Indonesia — 65 Containerized 1000kW Cummins Gensets, 50MW Continuous / 65MW Prime
Project Overview
As a world-class tourism destination and one of Southeast Asia's most economically active regions, Bali has seen electricity demand climb steadily alongside its tourism, commercial, and residential growth. To stabilise supply across the island and guarantee power for peak tourism seasons and essential daily needs, the local authority launched a 50MW independent power station as a priority energy project.
H&C supplied 65 containerized 1000kW diesel generator sets, each built around a CCEC (Chongqing Cummins) KTA50-G3 engine and paired with a Leroy-Somer brushless synchronous alternator, housed in a 20ft high-cube container. The fleet is paralleled to deliver 50MW continuous / 65MW prime output, giving Bali a reliable, scalable independent power source that runs 24/7.
Challenge & Requirements
Tropical Island Climate — High temperature, high humidity, and coastal salt spray demanded full anti-rain, anti-dust, anti-salt-spray, and anti-corrosion treatment so the units stay reliable in Bali's marine climate.
Peak Season & Grid Stability — The plant had to cover both tourism peak-season surges and everyday base load, providing stable island-wide power with no dependence on a weak external grid.
65-Unit Paralleling — 65 units had to combine into a single 50MW output through multi-unit paralleling with automatic grid connection, load sharing, and remote monitoring.

Solution & Implementation
H&C configured the plant for Bali's tropical marine climate, applying full anti-rain, anti-dust, anti-salt-spray, and anti-corrosion treatment to every container. Each 20ft high-cube unit integrates noise reduction, forced cooling, a large fuel tank, intelligent control, and fire suppression, so the fleet deploys directly outdoors with no dedicated machine room.
A dedicated project team managed the full process — design, procurement, production, and assembly through to factory testing and export — completing all 65 units ahead of schedule despite the large volume and tight deadline. The CCEC (Chongqing Cummins) KTA50-G3 engines are matched to Leroy-Somer alternators for stable voltage and low harmonic distortion that precisely meets the Indonesian grid standard.
H&C supported delivery, on-site initial acceptance, and commissioning in Bali, backed by ongoing technical service to keep the plant running reliably for the island's tourism and residential demand.

Project Results
All 65 units were delivered and passed on-site initial acceptance, giving Bali a 50MW independent power station that relieves pressure on the island's electricity supply and supports residential, commercial, and tourism demand.
The project demonstrates H&C's ability to scale a single 1000kW engine platform into a large, multi-unit paralleled independent power station — strengthening our credentials in tropical-island and grid-support generation across Southeast Asia.
