Saudi Taiba Power Project — 14×2000kW MTU Gensets
Taiba, Saudi Arabia — 14 Containerized 2000kW MTU 4000 Series Gensets
Project Overview
The Taiba project is a major energy infrastructure project in Saudi Arabia that demands the highest standards of supply reliability, stability, and efficiency — particularly at a remote site with difficult grid access.
H&C supplied 14 containerized 2000kW MTU 4000 Series diesel generator sets, each delivering 2000kW with strong performance, high fuel efficiency, and excellent transient response. The containerized design is easy to transport, install, and maintain while providing excellent environmental protection and sound attenuation for the local climate.
Challenge & Requirements
Remote, Difficult Grid Access — The project's remote location and difficult grid access required reliable, self-contained power that could operate independently of a stable external grid.
Harsh Local Climate — Catering to Saudi Arabia's local conditions required a containerized design with strong environmental protection and sound insulation, plus rigorous testing for endurance and environmental adaptability.
Backup Power Duty — The fleet had to provide backup power for the project's core area, ensuring reliable operation whenever the main supply is unavailable.

Solution & Implementation
H&C worked closely with the client to customize the design for the project's specific needs. Each 2000kW unit is built on the MTU 4000 Series platform, delivering strong transient response and high fuel efficiency for reliable backup operation.
The containerized design simplifies transport, installation, and maintenance while providing excellent environmental protection and sound insulation suited to the local climate and conditions. Every unit passed multiple strict tests — load, endurance, and environmental adaptability — under the ISO 9001 quality management system.
The fleet provides backup power for the Taiba project's core area, ensuring continuity of energy supply, lower operating cost, and higher production efficiency — effectively overcoming the challenge of a remote site with difficult grid access.
