Gas Generator for Oil Field — Syria SPC 4MW
Syria — 8×500kW Gas Gensets across 4 Sites
Project Overview
Oil rig operations in Syria's fields often run far from any utility grid, making reliable on-site generation the difference between production and costly downtime. Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC) required gas generator sets that could provide continuous power for drilling and production equipment around the clock, in a harsh, dust-heavy, off-grid environment.
H&C supplied 8×500kW gas generator sets across 4 sites — 2 units per site — fueled by gas for continuous, low-emission operation at each remote oil field location. Each set is engineered for continuous duty and easy field servicing.
Challenge & Requirements
The off-grid gas generator sets had to deliver continuous power, not just emergency standby, which meant sustained full-load capability and fuel efficiency were critical. The remote location demanded robust packaging that could withstand heat, dust, and transport over rough terrain, plus simple, maintainable systems that did not rely on a stable grid for starting or control power.

Solution & Implementation
H&C supplied 8×500kW gas generator sets across 4 sites — 2 units per site — for a total 4MW. Each set is configured for continuous off-grid duty in the harsh, dusty oil field environment, with remote monitoring and load management.
The gas generator sets were packaged for remote-site deployment and factory-tested before export. Full technical specifications (enclosure, fuel, dimensions, weight) are to be finalised.
H&C coordinated ocean freight and inland transport to the rig site, and provided remote commissioning support and documentation. A comprehensive spare-parts kit and operator training ensured SPC's team could perform routine service in the field without relying on external support.

Project Results
The off-grid gas generator sets have provided reliable continuous power for SPC's oil field operations, maintaining production through extended run periods with no major unplanned downtime reported.
SPC reported strong fuel efficiency and low maintenance burden, and the successful deployment led to repeat enquiries for additional off-grid power units for other field operations.
